12th June, 2019 Lady in the Van (2015) We finish our season with Alan Bennett’s comedy-drama about an elderly lady, (Mary Shepherd) who lived in a van which she parked on Bennett’s driveway, for 15 years. Directed by Nicholas Hytner, Mary is played by Maggie Smith and Bennett by Alex Jennings. Maggie Smith was nominated for both a Golden Globe and BAFTA for her performance.
