Athenaeum Film Nights Presents: Laughter in Paradise
The first in this year’s series of classic films takes place on Wednesday 11th October, and will feature the 1951 comedy Laughter in Paradise, starring George Cole, Guy Middleton & Fay Compton – with a minor appearance from one Audrey Hepburn.
When famous practical joker Henry Russell dies, he leaves his £200,000 to his four remaining relatives. While ostensibly a very loving act, Henry stipulates that each of the benefactors must complete a series of tasks to receive the money, which begins a series of tricky trials, each more hilarious than the last – nobody said getting rich would be easy, after all.
Guests gather in the Newsroom from 6:30pm ahead of supper at 7:00pm. The cinema will then open in the Wine Servery at 8:00pm. Sweets and treats will of course be served in the interval!
Book your place now via the Members’ Area or through the Concierge.
